A program of study is a sequence of courses that prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their chosen careers.

When you complete four or more credits within one program of study, you will earn an endorsement. Your counselor will work with you to ensure you complete the necessary coursework to earn an endorsement. There are three endorsements in Career and Technical Education: Business and Industry, Public Services, and STEM. The program of study guide lists the available programs of study within each endorsement

Based on your career interests, skills assessment, and values taken during your College & Career Exploration course, choose the Principles or Intro course listed in the program of study you would like to follow. You will follow the program of study courses throughout high school until you have completed four levels of the program of study.

A practicum is the final course in a program of study that allows for hands-on, practical application of knowledge in skills in a variety of settings both in and out of the classroom. Practicum classes partner with local businesses and industries to allow for field-experience and internship opportunities.

An industry-based certification (IBC) is an industry-recognized professional certification that represents valued skills that lead to employment and act as a springboard for higher levels of achievement to ensure students' independence and success in life beyond high school. Industry-based certifications offered in Cleburne ISD are approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and recognized by industry leaders as relevant for each respective program of study.
