Sting Bistro
About Sting Bistro
Sting Bistro was created in 2020 to serve CISD’s students wanting to become professionals in the hospitality business. The culinary program at CISD offers students the opportunity to gain skills they can use not only in a professional environment, but also to use for their future lives. CISD offers four levels of classes: Intro to Culinary, Culinary, Advanced Culinary, and Practicum in Culinary. Once students have reached the practicum level they are taught how to operate our catering program, develop recipes, compete in culinary competitions, and operate the student restaurant… Sting Bistro.
Sting Bistro is a full-service restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. For lunch, Sting Bistro is open to the public during the school year on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 11:30-1:30 with student schedules permitting and no reservation is required. For dinner, Sting Bistro is open to the public once per month by reservation only. Our lunch menu is fast casual with weekly features and moderately priced. Our dinner menu is usually 4 courses that is set, with the food and service elevated.
Our students are fully committed to making their guests feel welcomed and giving them an experience that will be at a high level. Our mission for the culinary program is for our students to leave school with a sense of accomplishment and knowledge of the hospitality business. If you visit with us, please give our students feedback, whether its good, great, or needs work.
