FAFSA Workshop/Opt Out

EOC is coming Tuesday, January 16th from 5:30-7:30 at CHS to help seniors and senior parents complete FAFSA/TASFA! Students/parents wanting assistance will need to bring a copy of their parents’ 1040 tax form from 2021 to complete the process. They are also seeing parents/students at their office at 218 S. Ridgeway Dr. for free assistance with FAFSA, TASFA, college applications, and scholarship opportunities.

House Bill 3 (HB 3) Implementation – Financial Aid Application

TEA requires that seniors must do one of the following in order to graduate:

  1. Complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  2. Complete TASFA (Texas Application for State Financial Aid)

OR

  1. Submit a signed opt-out form
For students who do not wish to complete FAFSA/TASFA, opt-out forms are available in our office and below. These must be returned to the CHS Counseling Center so that we can enter the dates on students' transcripts. Please call or email your counselor if you have questions.

Print the form for both student and parent to sign. We also have these printed in the counseling center if you need a copy!
